I'm reasonably certain that this car is a Chevette, I'm pretty sure they went with the Chevette because no-one thought making a Pinto hearse was a good idea.

Isn't any wagon ever made just a pair of blinds and some black paint away from being a hearse?

The source said Chevelle, but was very possibly wrong and I can't brain right now. However, it's definitely not a stock Chevette rear hatch and back half, regardless of similarity. The proportions are about right for a four-door Chevette that got bozo'ed, but a bit weird. Still looks to me slightly more like a deranged A-body, but I'm not 100%.

Also, a Pinto hearse is the most darkly hilarious thing ever.

Dude, it's Friday - brain is optional.

Also, because of the angle of the picture may well be a Chevelle, it just doesn't wide enough to be one in *this particular picture*.

Pinto Hearse

Your photo is definitely a Chevelle.
